Black Adam was once a Khandaqi warrior, a man named Teth-Adam, before being given the power of the Egyptian gods by the Wizard Shazam. Teth became the Mighty Adam, and spent many years doing good works for the people of Egypt. He eventually became corrupted, and sought to rule Egypt. The Wizard struck him down, and thought he would remain entombed forever, he was reborn as Theo Adam, an archeologist who killed Billy Batson's parents in order to keep what he discovered in the tomb of Khem Adam (Black Adam), He deciphered the word and became Black Adam, the protector and ruler of Khandaq.
